Hillcrest Baseball Begins!

The Hornets stepped up and took their first win of the season Monday, March
25 against Rogersville. The game was close. It was tied 5-5 till the 10th
inning. Carter hit a game winning single in the top of the 10th. There was
great pitching by Caleb Wiseman, and he gave no runs away.
The Hillcrest Hornets faced the Ozark Tigers on Tuesday, March 21. For
opening day, Caden Marrow started as the pitcher giving away only 5 runs to
Ozark. Relieving for him was Caleb Wiseman, and he gave only 2 runs away.
The Hornets lost to the Tigers 2-7. After that loss, the JV played them and
took a big loss 0-12.
On Friday, March 22, the Hornets played the Lees Summit Tigers. With
Jordan Wallace starting as the pitcher for the home opener, he gave away 4
runs. The game was tied at the 6th inning when Lees Summit hit a 3 run
double on Caleb Wiseman. The game was finished with the second loss for
Hillcrest at 4-7.
Now the Hornets are 1-2 in the season getting ready for this weekend's Red
and Blue Tournament on Friday March, 29th playing Belton, Helias Catholic,
Sedalia, Battle, and Rolla.
