Whataburger Review

Whataburger Review

Camryn Summers, Reporter

Whataburger is a family owned business that has been open for more than 72 years. It is currently open in 11 states with around 930 locations. They are famous for their fresh, made-to-order burgers, spicy ketchup, and their friendly customer service since 1950. Harmon Dobson opened the first Whataburger as a small roadside burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas on August 8, 1950.

Just recently they opened a Whataburger in Republic, Mo, which was the second  Whataburger in Missouri. There are around 4 more locations that are still in construction, but they are said to be open by the end of this year. What you can expect when you go is orange and white stripes with a 50s looking theme, which is for keeping it original.

Even though I have only been there once, it was definitely something to remember. You definitely need to try before you deny. The customer service is super nice, and if you are new, they are extremely helpful on things to recommend or common favorites. Another pro is that it is something new to Springfield, and it is a new option of fast food to try. The thing that sticks out most to me from everyones reviews is the spicy ketchup. Now there are lots of different spicy ketchups, but people say that this one is the best because of the equal parts of spice to ketchup.

While Whataburger is a great restaurant, there are a few cons about the place. The main con, I would say, with the new locations in Missouri is the wait. Especially Whataburger still being fairly new some people said they waited 12 hours for just a burger and fries. The traffic is also horrible. It was so bad, the police had to cross of some roadways which was difficult for some people getting to work and home. Lastly, is the cleanliness. Some complain about how clean the restaurant is, but I would beg to differ that it depends on what locations you go to, like small towns or old Whataburgers.

In conclusion, if you are wanting to go to the new Whataburger I definitely recommend, but would also say to wait a while till the wait time/traffic goes down. But overall, this restaurant is a great place to try, especially if you’re looking for a new fast food place to try.
