Love Hard Movie Review

Alexis Webster, Reporter

Love Hard is a romantic comedy on Netflix starring Nina Dobrev, Jimmy Yang, and Darren Barnett. It is directed by Hermán Jiménez and was released in 2021. Love hard is rated PG-13. Make sure you are 13 or above before watching this movie, unless you have parental consent.

Natalie (Nina Dobrev), a writer, meets her perfect match on a dating app. Her boss doesn’t believe it’s possible, and Natalie says she will prove him wrong. She flies 3000 miles from L.A. to meet the guy she found on the internet. She ended up getting catfished.

After watching Love Hard, I really enjoyed it. I liked the plot. I found the movie super funny, and I felt that there weren’t really any boring parts in the movie. I love John Lin’s character in the movie, because he’s super sarcastic.

Although I liked the movie, there were many parts that weren’t necessary to the movie. I also thought that Love Hard was kind of cringey. There was a part in the movie where they show all the dates that Natalie and Tag (Darren Barnett) went on, and I felt that was unnecessary. I felt like when the siblings were one upping each other, there were too many events happening in just one scene.

If someone asked me to recommend a funny Christmas movie to them, I would say Love Hard. The characters are hilarious, and the events are interesting to watch. It’s a great movie to watch with a group of friends on a cozy winter night.
