Watch Out for Miami Heat

Jayden Safley, Reporter

After the Miami Heat had a history setting playoff run in the unusual 2020 NBA Playoffs, the team is in a great spot. They have veteran talent, a good, young core, and the 20th overall pick in this year’s draft. There are many trade rumors that involve the team picking up more generational talent, so it will be an exciting off-season for them. Because of all of these reasons, I think that the Miami Heat will win the NBA Finals in the 2021 NBA season.

First of all, they already have a fantastic group of guys. They have a veteran star with Jimmy Butler who has proven to play like a superstar in the playoffs this season and they have young talent like Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Kendrick Nunn, and Duncan Robinson. They have more veterans that have lots of experience, such as Andre Igoudala and Jae Crowder. They have great coaching and a system that everyone on the team fits well in too. They are a few moves away from being the best team in the league.

Next, they have all of the pieces to trade for another star. Players that they could trade for include Giannis Antetokounmpo (the two-time NBA MVP), Jrue Holiday, and Victor Oladipo. All of these players have been all star players and have lockdown defense as well as offensive talent.

There are so many different scenarios for this team in the off-season that could make them better. They could make a trade for a win-now player, they could keep their pick and draft more young talent and develop their young players, and there are many more scenarios for this group of guys. In conclusion, I am confident that the Miami Heat will win the 2020 NBA Finals next season.
