On January 6th 2020, SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket into orbit. The rocket contained 60 mini-satellites that separate from the Falcon 9 rocket in orbit. SpaceX plans to launch 12,000 satellites to provide internet at a low cost around the world. Astronomers are worried about the junk that SpaceX’s satellites will leave behind, or how all those satellites could affect astronomer’s ongoing research. SpaceX has a solution to this problem.  When the satellite is at the end of it usefulness, the satellite will de-orbit, but if it fails to de-orbit the satellite will burn up in the atmosphere naturally.
